Recognised with an MBE for her contributions to South Asian representation and entrepreneurship, Zamiha Desai MBE is the powerhouse behind RecommendAsian a space lovingly known as the “South Asian Google” and Professional Asian, a network that uplifts professionals across the diaspora.
We first crossed paths during my very first Hey Gorgeous exhibition, where she’s one of the founding partners. Since then, our paths have naturally woven together through events, conversations, and one unforgettable shoot where she wore Raamro Style with such grace. It was a pivotal moment in my journey.
Zam has championed small businesses long before it became a trend. Her support never feels performative it’s real, grounded, and rooted in a deep desire to see others thrive. She sees potential in people before they see it in themselves and that is a rare gift.
