Women Who Carry Stories

Zamiha Desai MBE

Founder, RecommendAsian & Professional Asian | South Asian Community Cheerleader

When you speak about community, you can’t not speak about Zam. Recognised with an MBE for her contributions to South Asian representation and entrepreneurship, Zamiha Desai MBE is the powerhouse behind RecommendAsian a space lovingly known as the “South Asian Google” and Professional Asian, a network that uplifts professionals across the diaspora.

We first crossed paths during my very first Hey Gorgeous exhibition, where she’s one of the founding partners. Since then, our paths have naturally woven together through events, conversations, and one unforgettable shoot where she wore Raamro Style with such grace. It was a pivotal moment in my journey.

Zam has championed small businesses long before it became a trend. Her support never feels performative it’s real, grounded, and rooted in a deep desire to see others thrive. She sees potential in people before they see it in themselves and that is a rare gift.

You can follow her journey @zamihadesai and explore her platforms @recommendasian and @professionalasian, where community, courage, and quiet power come together.

Seema Anand

Mythologist | Storyteller | Guardian of the Sacred Feminine

There are women whose presence shifts something in you without noise, without force. Seema ji is one of those women. A renowned mythologist and global voice in sacred feminine storytelling, she doesn’t just speak she awakens.

When I saw her in a Raamro Style saree during the Luxurist Magazine cover shoot, it wasn’t just pride it was a moment of stillness. To see someone I’ve admired deeply embody the very spirit my brand holds… it meant more than I can explain.

Seema ji carries wisdom in her posture, poetry in her pauses, and power in the stories she chooses to tell and wear. She didn’t need to say much. Her presence said it all.

You can step into her world @seemaanandofficial where mythology, womanhood, and meaning are passed down like sacred threads.

Sophia Choudry

Founder of Rotibox | TEDx Speaker | Mum | Business Mentor

Sophia Choudry didn’t just build a business she sparked a movement. As the visionary behind Rotibox, she transformed a humble kitchen memory into a globally recognised brand now found in homes from South Africa to Japan. Her story raw, emotional, and wildly inspiring is a reminder that no woman is too ordinary to change the world.

When she stepped into a Raamro saree, we saw not just a founder, but a woman rooted in heritage and courage the kind who lifts others even while carrying her own legacy. Her quiet power and playful spirit aligned beautifully with what Raamro stands for: softness, strength, and stories that live far beyond the frame.

Her full feature in Luxurist Magazine dives deeper into her journey from TikTok virality to feeding over 11,000 families through her ‘You Buy, We Donate’ policy.

Mina Kumari

Body Confidence Coach & Personal Stylist

Mina’s presence is the kind that stays with you grounded, bold, and deeply empowering. As a body-inclusive confidence coach, she helps women reclaim their voice through style, not as a means to fit in, but to finally stand tall in their truth.

We first crossed paths during a shoot that celebrated real women, real stories no filters, no pretence. Mina wore a Raamro Style saree not just as a garment, but as an extension of her message: that beauty isn’t a mould, and confidence isn’t a size.

Her energy, her words, and her commitment to lifting other women remind us that every fold of a saree can hold softness and strength just like the women who wear them.

You can follow Mina’s work and journey @minakumari_bodyconfidence coach a space that reminds us all to lead with self-worth, not society’s standards.
